Silverlake - Caja Negra presents a photography exhibition celebrating Latina and Chicano culture in commemoration of Latino Heritage Month. This exhibit will display the range and diversity of the Latino experience in the United States and Latin America, from expressions of the familial and personal examinations of socio-political and economic realities of Latino life in Los angeles and abroad.
In conjunction with the exhibition, Caja Negra will present a diverse selection of Latino and Chicano music, poetry, dance and film from 7pm-11pm on the following days:
Oct. 4th - Reception with live music from Ollin
Oct. 11th - Mexica dance from Xipetotec, poetry by Epi-Centro member Anayvette Maria and guests, plus live music ffrom Azufre
Oct. 18th - Poetry and music by Carmen Vega and Barnicle, screening of short film by Carlos Robles,live music from The Sirens
