August 2003, Memoria, Voz y Patrimonia
Caja Negra Collective took part in Memoria, Voz y Patrimonia, the first conference on Latino/Chicano film, print and sound archives.
The conference highlighted the importance of archives and record keeping which are essential for the Latino community to document and protect its rights, capture its collective memory and to ensure access to its cultural past, achivements and legacy.
Along with Steven Davidson (Florida Moving Image Archives) and Jacqueline Solis (CSUN - Urban Archives Center), Jose Rivera participated in a panel discussion focusing on archive collections. Jose presented Caja Negra's image archive project and the
photo documentary activities which are supporting it's creation.
